π― Objectives
Main Objective
The main objective presents the overall goal of the graduation project. It states what the student ultimately wants to accomplish by the end of the project in a clear and concise manner. It should be directly related to the problem statement and remain broad, yet focused.
Example β Habit Tracking Mobile App:
To design and develop a mobile application that helps users build and maintain positive daily habits through tracking, motivation, and personalized feedback.
Example β Educational Cartoon Series:
To produce a short animated series that teaches children aged 6β8 important social and emotional skills using engaging storytelling and age-appropriate visuals.
Specific Objectives
Specific objectives are detailed sub-goals that describe how the main objective will be achieved. Each one should be specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART). They break down the work into manageable tasks and offer a clear roadmap for implementation.
Example β Habit Tracking Mobile App:
- Design a user-friendly interface that allows users to create, track, and complete daily habits by October 2025.
- Implement key features such as habit streaks, motivational notifications, and progress analytics by December 2025.
- Conduct usability testing with at least 20 users and collect feedback to improve design by January 2026.
- Optimize app performance to ensure smooth experience on both Android and iOS devices by February 2026.
Example β Educational Cartoon Series:
- Write and finalize scripts for six episodes (2β3 minutes each) covering core emotional intelligence themes by September 2025.
- Storyboard and animate the first three episodes using 2D animation tools by November 2025.
- Conduct a pilot screening with children aged 6β8 and gather feedback from educators and parents by December 2025.
- Complete post-production (audio, narration, subtitles) and publish the full series online by February 2026.
Why Objectives Are Important
Defining objectives is a critical step in any graduation project. They:
- Provide clarity and direction, helping students stay focused throughout the project timeline.
- Allow for measurable evaluation of the projectβs success based on specific targets.
- Facilitate communication with supervisors and evaluators by clearly stating what will be done and when.
